Choosing The Right Windows For Your Home
With the number of different window options out there you can easily become overwhelmed when choosing the right style windows for your home. It can be hard to know where to start with the wide range of options and styles out there. Plus, making an investment as large as fitting new windows is not only a costly one but one that has the potential to completely transform the look of your property, so ensuring you are well informed is key.
Windows can really make or break the aesthetics of a home so it’s something worthwhile putting a lot of time and effort into researching so you make the perfect choice.
Casement Windows
Casement windows are windows that are attached to the verticle side of the frame with the use of hinges, these then swing open to help with the ventalaiton.
Our casement window installations come in two options: Chamfered and Sculptured. Our Chamfered windows have a SlimSTASH with a flatter neater profile. This allows for more light to enter into your home due to your windows having less “frame” blocking the sun. We recommend this option for almost any style property.
The Sculptured frame has a more rounded profile. The shape is often referred to as an ovolo. This doesn’t allow as much light in however the frames provide a decorative effect to your windows. We recommend these frames for properties with larger windows where maximising sunlight is less of a problem. For example, these windows fit excellently in conservatories or cottage-style properties.
Tilt and Turn PVCu
Tilt and Turn windows are dual-functioning windows that swing open like a casement window and also tilt inwards from the top. They offer a modern look with a functional design, perfect for ventilation.
We are fitting these windows more and more often as people discover the many benefits of these frames. They’re tested to meet stringent security standards with Secure by Design status available with an A-energy rating as standard. We also offer triple glazing with these windows which allows for greater soundproofing as well as heat retention which may be a worthwhile investment depending upon the location of your property.
We constantly see these windows looking excellent in more modern homes that suit larger windows.
SlimSash Windows
Windows with a ‘SlimSash’ have reduced sightlines, leading to a more elegant window profile that brings more daylight into a room due to a larger glass area.
These windows come with a chamfered external profile and a choice of Chamfered or Sculptured internal beading. The Slimline profile minimises the frame thickness and maximises the glass area. This allows for the maximum amount of light to enter the property without you having to make any sacrifices on quality. What’s more, is that these frames are available in an extensive range of finishes so you can create the perfect look to suit almost any home.
Do I Need New Windows?
There is a list as long as your arm for the reasons why you should get new windows for any property. The new double glazed windows we can install come with A+ Energy ratings. They are great at keeping the cold out and the heat in during the winter months. New windows also have better soundproofing and security; meaning you can rest assured you’ll get some peace and quiet in your home.
