Choosing The Right Accessories for your Front Door

If you’re looking for a new front door for your home, then you might be thinking about the colour, the type of door, the styles that you like. But you might not initially consider the wide range of door accessories you can get which can help put the final finishing touches to your perfect front door. Choosing the right accessories for your front door is important – you don’t often replace a PVCu or composite door so you need to pick wisely.

You often need to think about the style of your home itself when picking out the right door. If you have a period property, for example; you might want to choose a style and colour that complements certain features. Alternatively, if you have coloured PVCu windows installed; you might consider choosing a door that matches or works well with this colour.

Once you’ve found the right door style and colour for your home, you might then want to consider the same principles with the accessories you choose.

Choosing a Letterbox for your New Door

Depending on what style of door you have chosen, you can choose to have your letterbox situated in many different positions. You could have it in the middle which is a standard option. Or you could have it at the bottom, either horizontal or vertically on the side, or if you’d prefer. Or without a letterbox altogether! You can also choose what kind of colour you’d like which will perfectly complement your home. Just like you can choose different styles of door to complement your home, you can also choose the right style of handles and knockers to fit your property. If you have a period home, you might want to go for a slightly more ornate style. Swan-Neck handles, for example, are always a popular door handle that works well with older properties. If you’d like to also put your house name or number on the front of your door; we can provide letters and numerals in 7 different colours. These accessories are available in the same colours as the letterboxes and fit any door style. They have also been thoroughly salt-spray tested to make sure they stay looking great for many years to come.

Door security is always a big factor in choosing the right door for your home. All of our doors combine the highest security features that work with all of the stylish designs of doors. Therefore, we have locks such as the Safe-T-Bar lock which ensures your home is protected against intrusion.
